The Art of Gift Wrap

Because every tree needs a theme, we thought it would be fun to get a group of girls together and collaborate on different ways to gift wrap this season.

I have small children, so I like for our tree and the gift wrap to be magical, childlike and whimsical. I love classic Christmas with variations of red, green and stripes paired to brown butcher paper.

For clients, I love a more sophisticated wrap like what Chris picked out – a black matte with black velvet bows and greenery. So, so, soooo chic! It’s really gorgeous. My favorite. We used velvet ribbon, grosgrain and bakers twine, and paired the presents with seeded eucalyptus and cedar greens.

We also thought to add a classy touch of gift tags with calligraphy- seasons greetings, warm wishes and the like. We had a long centered garland as decor with pine cones, pomegranates and tea lights.

Kirby’s style is a grown up, classic, traditional look with a bit of tartan and old world embroidered stockings. You can never ever go wrong with this aesthetic.

Kirby, Chris and I got together to do our gift wrap shopping together. The three of us have a very similar aesthetic and come up with great ideas playing off one another. Shopping in and of itself was a great time. We went to get paper, ribbons, hang tags and of course, fresh greenery and flowers and invited our friends over for an afternoon of champagne and a head start on wrapping.

Sharing ideas is one of the best ways to sharpen what we like to think of as the *art of being female. It is so tasteful to arrive with gift in hand, wrapped beautifully and in a unique way. It’s also really impressive when you’re entertaining guests to have the gifts under the tree coordinating in a way that shows off your thoughtful and creative skills.

Our friends at B. Candy created the cutest classic sugar cookies for us to nibble on while sipping champagne and hot chocolate, and wrapped to our hearts’ content. Love the surfboard!
