Starting off the new year with CELERY JUICE! You’ve probably seen it everywhere as it has grown extremely popular in 2018 but do you know what it really does? This year I’m starting each morning off on an empty stomach with pure celery juice to help detox and improve my digestion system. I’ve been doing it for a few weeks now and feel like it has saved me throughout the holidays.
I began by buying a few cups at Mother’s Market or Whole Foods but then decided to graduate to juicing it myself and honestly it was much easier than I thought. I make enough for two days of juice for my husband and I and then do it all over again two days later.

I first learned about it from my mom who read all about it on her favorite instagram account, The Medical Medium who refers to it as a “miracle juice” and “one of the greatest healing tonics of all time”. He recommends drinking 16 oz of pure organic celery juice on an empty stomach and waiting at least 15 minutes after before consuming anything else. It’s not caloric at all so you’ll still need some breakfast to get you through your day.

But enough about me, here’s why YOU should get on the juice train…
It’s extremely anti-inflammatory and can help people who suffer from autoimmune diseases. It helps heal the gut and can be soothing to the digestive tract. It’s extremely alkalizing. The natural sodium in celery juice helps stabilize blood pressure, and helps absorb and utilize the food you consume throughout the rest of the day. It’s high in Vitamin K, calcium and silicon, all for bone health and regeneration. Celery juice can also help purify the blood stream and promote the activity of white blood cells. Drinking the juice alone helps detoxify the body and promotes restoration and elimination. Directions:
Rinse the celery (Tip: I like to fill up the sink with water and clean a bunch at once) (I also prefer to chop off the ends of the celery)
Run it through a juicer. Drink immediately for best results, or make for 2 days.
Alternatively, you can chop the celery and blend it in a high-speed blender until smooth. Strain well and drink immediately.
