Recently, my health nut of a husband, purchased a super cool book all about holistic alternatives to life’s ailments. One of the first he read to me was about anxiety because believe it or not, let’s face it, we all deal with a touch of anxiety in today’s culture. I tend to believe that I’m not affected but as he read the symptom descriptors… heck, it describes anyone! lol.
One of the alternatives was to incorporate prayer or meditation daily. This piqued my interest because any time I feel tweaked for one reason or another, I pray. I’m not very practiced in the way of meditation, but seems that they are similar enough to reach close results.
The idea of prayer and meditation can be daunting because who has the time, right? To silence ourselves for hours at a time and moan Ommmmm. Not. Happening.
I have a client, Jill Willard, who is awesome. She introduced me to the idea of meditating at short intervals which is doable for ALL of us. She has a new book Intuitive Being and has been featured on goop numerous times, you should all read her work. Very interesting.
I was also reading and love these short meditations feat. in the NY Times…called “Meditation for Real Life” which is just that. Super doable meditations for when you’re driving, on an airplane, while brushing your teeth, you name it.
Here’s to less anxiety! Do you have a meditation/prayer trick?
